| Personal Biography | My patience and high standards form the core of my editing services. I particularly enjoy helping writers validate their ideas and their research; clear writing is the key. I’m also a meticulous proofreader. For many years I was a freelance editor and proofreader for the University of Washington Press (until they went in-house with most of their copy editing), which has the highest book-production standards in the industry. I taught academic writing for two years during PhD studies as a foreign student at the University of Washington, and completed an editing certificate program there. I specialize in the subject areas of art and architectural history, but I have wonderful clients in many fields, from computer science to romantic fiction. I worked in-house for Heritage House Publishing for two years, first as an editor an then as the editorial coordinator, so I am very familiar with the entire publishing process. I also design books and help authors publish them. I love this work because it combines different skills.
