Jillian has been an academic and non-fiction editor for more than fifteen years. She has a PhD in ancient literacy and oral tradition (UVic, 2010) and a master’s degree in publishing (SFU, 2001) and has taught courses in editing, writing and publishing history at various universities around British Columbia. Currently, she works as an editor in the legislative drafting office for the Province of British Columbia and is the substantive editor for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s BC journal Visions. She was an academic copy-editor for UBC Press for many years.
