I am an editor and writer, usually based out of Victoria, British Columbia. From September 2015 to April 2016, I am based out of my home province of Nova Scotia, where I’m studying law at Dalhousie University. When I’m not working, I enjoy being outside, running, biking, and skiing; baking and eating cookies (and other food, too); reading; and travelling.
In 2011, I completed a certificate in editing from Simon Fraser University’s Writing and Publishing Program. Prior to that, I graduated with an MA in English from the University of Victoria in 2009, specializing in Canadian Literature, and a BA in English with a minor in History from Carleton University in 2007. I have read and studied a fair bit of literature from Atlantic Canada and British Columbia and enjoy working with both fiction and non-fiction.
In addition to my freelance work, I have worked as an in-house editor and editorial coordinator with Heritage House Publishing in Victoria, BC, working on such books as Birds of British Columbia, by Glenn Bartley, George Littlechild: The Spirit Giggles Within, by George Littlechild, Chilcotin Yarns, by Bruce Watt, and Barkerville and the Cariboo Goldfields, by Richard Thomas Wright, among others. I have also interned with Echo Memoirs and Douglas & McIntyre publishers in Vancouver, BC.
